    @flameguy617 You might see a little bit of the metal contacts out of the port, as long as you push down and you hear the port click into place you should be okay.

    @machocave does the metal contacts have to be all the way inside the port?

    @machocave And so far, I haven’t seen a video card that doesn’t fit into the slot, so please let us know video card model you have so that we can all pick parts that are compatible.

    @flameguy617 Great Question! If your 580 is the same as mine an EVGA GTX 580 SC, check to make sure that the slot release port is down or open on the motherboard as it may be in the wrong position and would cause the card not to fit. If the 580′s heatsink actually swoops down and hits the thermal shielding, you may need to remove the thermal shielding just to install the video card — if that’s the case I would suggest either looking for a different video card or different motherboard.

    i couldnt get my 580 all the way in the port because my thermal shield on the motherboard blocked it from going down anymore. could you help please?
